Hagbourne - Away

Hagbourne 0 Colts 2

The U14's ground out a well deserved result against a strong Hagbourne side on a very sticky pitch. In the 1st half & playing down a slope with the sun in their eyes Colts were slow to start with Hagbourne starting the more fired up so the defence worked hard to cope with the threats. Slowly the Colts midfield started to work their way into the match playing some neat passing football in the sticky conditions.Colts pressure paid off as Matty Bishop latched on to a ball the Hagbourne keeper had spilled to put Colts 1-0 up at halftime. Colts knew they had to dig in & work even harder up the slope for the 2nd half & they did adapting well & dealing comfortably with the Hagbourne attacks. Colts secured all 3 points when leading goalscorer James Allen raced onto a through ball by Ashley Price to drive the ball past their keeper 5 minutes from time.
The under 14@s cemented their 4th position in the league& are closing in on 3rd spot with games in hand. They can also boast the 2nd best defensive record in the league , what a turn around from last season.

Its been an excellent 1st half of the season boys well done for all your hardwork & determination lets carry our momentum into the Newyear.

Merry Xmas & a Happy New year to you all.
